LAIC participants practice throughout Southern California and are available to provide a comprehensive range of legal services.
They, and other attorneys, are also participants of Modest Means Panels with Lawyer Referral Service or "LRS". The LRS is a nonprofit service that allows members of the public to find a qualified attorney. Attorneys on the LRS Panel are screened for qualifications, carry malpractice insurance and are in good standing with the State Bar of California. These attorneys provide a free initial consultation (up to 30 minutes) by phone or appointment to evaluate the individuals' specific legal needs. There is no cost to access information through the LRS and there is no fee to get a referral to an attorney. The State Bar of California certifies Lawyer Referral Services in order to help Californians find attorneys. The State Bar is not a lawyer referral service and cannot give any legal advice or direct you to a specific attorney. Use the link to locate lawyer referral services in many counties throughout California: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Public/Need-Legal-Help/Lawyer-Referral-Service.
If you need a lawyer and cannot afford one, you may qualify for free legal services from legal aid. Legal aid agencies are non-profit organizations that provide free legal services to people below a certain income level. To find a legal aid organization in your area, please visit www.LawHelpCa.org. The California Judicial Branch also has an online self-help center with information, please visit www.courts.ca.gov/selfhelp.htm.
Los Angeles Incubator Consortium (LAIC) User Agreement. By using this website or otherwise communicating with Los Angeles Incubator Consortium (hereinafter, "LAIC"), I acknowledge and agree to the following: I understand that by submitting a query through this website for legal help, NO attorney-client relationship is being created. I will not send LAIC or any of its community attorneys any confidential information or documents through the LAIC website. IF I DO NOT HEAR FROM AN ATTORNEY WITHIN 72 HOURS OF SUBMITTING MY QUERY, I WILL ASSUME THAT NO ATTORNEY IN THE LAIC COMMUNITY IS AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE ME LEGAL ASSISTANCE. I understand that LAIC is not a law firm or a lawyer referral service; it is a community for individual, California attorneys. I further understand that each individual attorney operates her or his own, distinct and independent legal practice, and that LAIC itself does not provide legal representation or advice. My query will be forwarded to individual attorneys in the LAIC community who will evaluate whether or not any of the attorneys as individuals are able to provide me with legal representation. A legal relationship between myself and a LAIC community attorney does NOT exist until and unless an individual attorney is specifically retained in an agreement signed by both myself and the attorney to provide legal services. I acknowledge that with submitting any and all queries through this website, no legal representation relationship exists in any way between myself and LAIC and/or any of its sponsors, partners or attorneys in its community. I understand that my submitting this query does not in any way guarantee or ensure that I will receive legal advice from or retain one of the attorneys in LAIC's community. I understand that I should continue to seek legal advice and representation regardless of whether I am contacted by an attorney in the LAIC community to ensure that I do not miss any deadlines or suffer any consequence for not having legal representation. I understand that if I have been injured or harmed I may have cause to file a law suit, and that if I have been served legal papers I may be required to file an answer or other legal paperwork to protect my rights and assert my position. There are strict time limits for filing law suits and legal paper work. If I miss a deadline, I may be permanently barred from bringing a case in court or from asserting my position or rights in court. I understand and acknowledge that the materials provided on this website and in LAIC's social media content, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google+, are for informational purposes only and are not guaranteed to be correct, complete, or current and should not be relied on as legal advice. Every case is different and my case or claim may not bring results similar to those described in this website or in LAIC's social media. I should consult a lawyer if I need help with legal matters. No attorney-client relationship is or can be established by reviewing information on LAIC's website, social media, or by communicating with LAIC by email or through social media messaging. I understand that through this website and LAIC's social media, it links to content on other websites.
